In addition, conceptual artist John Bell, (who had designed the customised tour vehicles and other hardware for JP), worked from his home base in Northern California to provide designs and blueprints for the hunter and gatherer expedition vehicles, while Pamela Klamer designed the modula, customised trailer used for the expeditions base camp. |

The
two module trailer for the gatherer's camp also had to be customised with
a self-extending, rooftop communications satellite umbrella and high-tech
equipment in the interior. The trailer would also be integral to one of the biggest effects sequences Lantieris crew would face, the T-Rex-versus-the-trailer scene in which the T-Rex pushes the conveyance over a cliff. "The question we had to answer was: 'How do you drag 22,000 pounds' worth of trailer over a location or across a stage floor, make it jackknife, and then make it fall over a cliff and hang there by ts boot?' We knew going into that sequence would probabley be our ost difficult of the entire movie." |
